DNA Bending in Nucleosomes and Transcription Factors

DNA is often described by its canonical B-form structure, but biologically important systems can require sharp bending, twisting, and local deformation. Nucleosomes wrap DNA around histone proteins, and transcription factors can reshape DNA to regulate gene expression.

The lab has studied DNA bending, local base-step parameters, nucleosome formation, and transcription-factor-associated DNA deformation in collaboration with experimental groups.
